Ovation VXT Acoustic-Electric guitar (literally)
Have you always wanted to switch between an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar right in the middle of a song without switching instruments? Well now you can, check out the ovation VXT acoustic electric guitar. It’s got two complete pickup systems. On the electric side it’s got two Seymour Duncan pickups for a fat Gibson style electric tone, and for the acoustic side a Fishman piezo power bridge and preamp to give you a truly fat acoustic tone. So with a stereo y-cable you can split the electric guitar signal to an electric amp and the acoustic to a P.A. system or acoustic amp. You can even have both at the same time which sounds really cool. Check out this recording I did with the Ovation. I have it running into two inputs on a Line 6 UX8 USB interface running Pod Farm . I split the signal to run two different amps. I have the electric distorted and panned to the left, and the acoustic panned to the right.
