Is your current lighting rig not cutting it? Looking to get into uplighting? Check out the Mega Par Profile. A par can with everything you need and nothing to weigh you down. First of all its slim profile allows it to sit on the ground inconspicuously. Its light weight so that means easy set up and break down. Since its LED, you can have quite a few of these going without blowing a breaker. Great design and aesthetics meet excellent quality. Please see the video below for more features.

Meeting George Benson and Getting to Play The New Ibanez LGB300-VYS at NAMM 2012

Posted By on May 12, 2012

Hey Easy Music Center fans, I had the opportunity to go to the NAMM show this year. It was an honor and a privilege to represent Easy Music Center. If you ever get a chance to go, do not miss out on the opportunity.  You will get to see great new products and see music legends such as George Benson.

Being an Ibanez dealer, I was afforded the opportunity to attend a semi-private demonstration with George Benson showing off his new Ibanez LGB300-VYS. This new hollow body jazz guitar by Ibanez is a true beauty. It has a rich full tone that will inspire the creativity of any guitarist. It features a 16.5″ body, wider neck profile, which works great for fingerstyle playing,  and Super 58 pickups in both the bridge and neck positions that handle everything from jazz to rock tones.

The coolest thing about this experience was that he asked if anybody wanted to try out the guitar right then and there. Yikes!  A couple of guys went up and played really well. George asked if one more person wanted to come up and try the guitar. I figured what the heck. Watch the whole video, but look out for me at 12:10. This was a surreal experience that I will never forget.

Roland G-5-BLK VG Stratocaster

Posted By on May 6, 2012

I recently did a post on one of the James Tyler Variax guitars and immediately had to grab this gem by Roland and Fender. I was burning with desire to play it and compare its features. The Variax really impressed me with the instant tuning changes. The  Roland G-5-blk VG does not fall short in that area.

Both guitars really do the same tricks. Out of the box, I really did appreciate the aesthetics of the G-5 VG: the classic black color and  three single-coil pickup configuration makes this guitar nothing short of sexy! And, it sounds great too. That goes both for the (N) rotary knob selection – (N) standing for natural, or for straight up single-coil Strat circuitry – as well as the Roland COSM technology-powered, virtual Tele (T), Strat (S),  modeled Humbuckers (H), and acoustic (A) settings.

The guitar is really straight forward in selecting the sounds you need at any moment. And it feels, sounds and plays as well as an American Standard. Great job on this collaboration!

The Korg Pitchblack – Always be in tune!

Posted By on April 26, 2012

There are few things more frustrating for a musician than an out of tune instrument. When you can’t see your tuner clearly, that just adds insult to injury. Fret not (pun intended), for we have just the solution! This is the KORG Pitchblack chromatic tuner. Its small and stealthy design make it a great addition to your pedal board, and the super bright and large LED’s mean no more struggling to figure out what the note is. The Pitchblack has 4 different tuning modes (Meter, Full Strobe, Half Strobe, Mirror), a 9v in and OUT (to power your other pedals) and is 100% true bypass. That means you won’t be giving up tone to be in key which is definitely a plus. It also has a broad detection range from E0 (20.60 Hz) to C8 (4186 Hz), and can be calibrated from 436 – 445hz. Check out the video to see the 4 tuning modes in action.  Come try the Korg Pitchblack out for yourself today at Easy Music Center!

Ibanez S1XXV 25th Anniversary Relive all of your 80′s glory

Posted By on April 22, 2012

Dust off those old acid wash jeans,  jean jacket (canadian tuxedo baby!) and your headbanger approved back patch and buttons because this month we’re checking out the new 25th anniversary  Ibanez S1XXV in 80′s approved fluorescent yellow ( also available in florescent green). When I was a little mullet headed lad, I wanted this guitar so bad…it was a shredder guitar, was florescent yellow, and just screams COCKROCK! What more could a kid want? Who didn’t think florescent yellow was  cool in the 80′s?  Back then it was called a saber because of how thin it was.  There was nothing like it on the market, and it ripped.  Aside from the new tremolo system, it is just as cool as I had remembered . Come by and check one out today.

Ibanez unveils an S Series in brilliant fluorescents.

Famous for its lightweight carved mahogany body, the S series can take a beating while still providing the resonance of guitars twice its size. It also comes equipped with the double-locking ZR tremolo and Zero Point System, a smooth ball bearing tremolo that makes every subtle nuance of whammy bar use come alive. The S series’ sleek, comfortable mahogany bodies, thin & fast Wizard III necks, and high-gain IBZ INF pickup combos make these instruments impossible to beat in any genre of music. And now it’s available in outrageous finishes sure to make a statement at any venue.

Features

  • Mahogany body
  • 3 Piece maple Wizard III neck, rosewood fretboard, 24 jumbo frets
  • INF1 neck pickup
  • INFS1 middle pickup
  • INF2 bridge pickup
  • ZR bridge with ZPS2

The melodica is a unique instrument.  It combines the techniques that both horn/woodwind and piano players use.  Sound from this instrument is made by blowing into the tube and holding down the specific notes or chords.  The majority of entertainers use this instrument to play melody lines.  The types of genre you will hear the melodica are reggae, indie, and folk.  Check out this video we made.  I hope you get an idea what this instrument sounds like.
