Jam Sessh!

Every first Thursday is Jam Session Thursday at Easy Music Center King Street. Of course, our stage really is open to you any time of the day. People get up there and rock out all the time. But, if you are a little bashful, or are hoping that other random folks will get up there too and fill in on different instruments, then come down on Thursday evenings from 5:00 pm to 6:30pm. We will have the stage ready to go (we normally do anyway) with microphones, a guitar, keyboard, bass, and drums. Just get up on the stage and get rocking!!!

Guitar Lesson in Pearl City – Want to learn Slack Key, Rock, or Blues?

Would you like to learn guitar or ukulele? Walter is a killer instructor. He can teach just about any style, but he is our only instructor that also specializes in slack key. Please let us know if you are interested. He rarely has openings, but a bunch of his military students have left the island leaving him with availability. He has some afternoon openings available on Tuesdays and Saturdays. He charges $25 for a half hour.

About Walter Keoni Carvalhao:
Recognized Slack Key Guitar Master by the State of Hawaii on the Culture and the Arts, and the Hawaii State Legislature for his Perpetuation of Hawaiian slack Key for 20 yrs for Hawaii’s Department of Education. Keoni graduated from Kailua High School and University of Hawaii and went on to play with the U.S. Army Band and later played with the former Windward Symphony Orchestra. He performs professionally, both solo and with his group Ho’omanalo. Keoni has recorded with several Hawaiian Groups and appeared with the late Raymond Kane on his instructional guitar DVD. He performed throughout the Hawaiian Islands with the State Cultural Expansion Program for the Univerisity of Hawaii and held solo performances in Auckland, New Zealand. Keoni offers instruction for Acoustic and Electric Guitar, Ukulele and Electric Bass, specializing in Music Theory, Slack Key, Jazz and the Blues. Keoni mostly teaches out at the Pearl City store.

ZT Club – 200W – Customer tries it out with a Fender Strat

I was sitting in my office at the store, and I heard a nice shiny sound coming from the floor. This customer was checking out the ZT Club – 200Watt with his Fender Strat. For the size and price, I’m impressed with these ZT amps. I know I said it in the video, but I will mention it again, I can’t believe that is a solid state amp. It sounds sick! I looked into our system, and saw that we had priced this amp properly when looking into it for the customer. It should be at $459. Come down to either of our stores and check it out!
