Since the release of the StudioLive 16.4.2, PreSonus has been on the top of the charts for the 16 channel mixer category. It was a new fresh look to the digital mixer and no one could have predicted the amount of people who opted into getting one. As if things couldn’t get better for PreSonus, at Winter NAMM 2010 they just released a bigger and better version of the StudioLive. Get ready for the StudioLive 24.4.2! This new mixer gives you 24 Class XMAX Preamplifier independent channels.  We’re not talking 16 XLR and 4 stereo QTR channels, we’re talking full blown 24 XLR! Also an upgrade from the 16.4.2 the 24.4.2 now gives you 10 auxiliary mixes. Also look forward to 4-band fully parametric EQ’s. But my favorite of all the new features would have to be the full Stereo 31-band graphic EQ on the Mains, Subgroups, and Aux outputs. This is an amazing new product from PreSonus. Don’t get too excited though, release is predicted to be late this summer.

Professional Biography of John Schauer

With more than 25 years of professional audio experience, John is a 22-year veteran of Yamaha Corporation of America. He has worked with many professional sound companies, sharing with them both his technical expertise and experience. Having provided audio for television, corporate, theatrical, and concert events earned him the responsibility of providing audio support for all of Yamaha’s corporate functions. He is instrumental in advising many of Yamaha’s retail dealers in planning church and school installations, helping them select the proper equipment. His seminars to end users, product specialists, and salespeople alike are very well received. In his product demonstrations, he explains complex theories and other hard-to-understand topics by breaking them down into easy to follow terms. His past experience in Yamaha’s service department has helped him maintain very close contact with customers to help them through installation questions, setup, and operational issues. In his current role as product manager, he is instrumental in developing products that the professional audio market requires.
