Yamaha looks to have upped the ante in the powered speaker market with the DSR series. They tell me the 12″ and 15″ are 1300 watts (LF850W, HF450W). I heard the entire series at the show. They sounded phenomenal. They were light, and they had a nice look to them (the 12″ was 40 pds and could also be a floor monitor). There doesn’t seem to be any pricing set in stone on them yet. They are saying they will be released around October. I can’t wait to get them in the store to shoot them out against everything under the sun. Hopefully we will be lucky enough to get a sneak preview when Yamaha does a clinic later this year.

Check out this great WorkStation keyboard from Yamaha. It has great sounds from samples of real instruments. A sequencer records your MIDI data and it also records analog audio from a mic or guitar. It can be integrated with most computer DAW and works especially well with Cubase where it becomes a  control surface.  Come in today and check it out!
